Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Polo 6C (facelift) MY15 changes over 6R MY2012 - Australia spec (not GTI)

These are from the brochures I have. Don't know if anything changed from 2012-2014. Have not looked at GTI.

    Deleted diesels. Deleted 3-door.

    Cosmetic changes to:
upper grille, headlights - twin headlights for Trendline
    lower grille, fog lights
    total interior restyle

    New features:
    multi collision brake
    daytime running lights
15"x6" wheels steel for Trendline (was 14"x5")
    touchscreen radio/CD
Thinkblue trainer for Comfortline and (not in brochure thanks Slocs) Trendline too
    electromechanical steering (was electrohydraulic)

    Specification tweaks:
    Trendline gets 1.2L TSI 66kW 160Nm (was 1.4L NA 63kW 130Nm)
Comfortline 1.2L TSI up to 81kW (was 77kW)
1.2L compression ratio up to 10.5:1 (was 10:1)
fuel consumption (combined) 4.8-4.9L/100km (was 5.5-6.1L/100km)
weight up ????about 70kg (very odd ?mistake)
    reduced length 92mm
    reduced height 47mm
    increased wheelbase 14mm
    reduced track 6-7mm
    raised luggage cover 61mm

    Bluey,

the Think Blue Trainer is also on the Trendline - the brochure is incorrect on that one. I must say, after a couple of days of driving a 66TSI manual around, I'm VERY impressed with the build, performance, and features, especially for the money. The car rides so much better than the Jazz that we have - it almost feels like a car from the next size up (Golf/Corolla etc).

    Regards

    Rob

Thanks for the amendment - have fixed in first post.

It seems to me the platform sharing of the huge Volkswagen Group especially Seat, Skoda, VW, Audi provides huge benefits in terms of trickle down of technology to the bottom of the market at low cost. Just noticed the group has a 19.9% stake in Suzuki and wondering what sort of technology sharing they get from Suzuki - just a big fight since 2011 from reading the press!

Overall love my 66TSI 5 Speed:

        - Touchscreen works well enough (a little sticky at times).
        - Sound system is absolute class for an entry level car.
        - Responsive enough for such a small, low powered engine.
        - Build quality incredible for the money both inside and out.
        - Electromechanical steering is great - steering is so light!

The only negative is not being able to turn off the Stop / Start permanently. I hate it with a passion in the manual. I have a feeling the button will wear out quickly in mine.

Presume this can be done with VCDS one day. But Ross-Tech hasn't quite got the data ready for 6C Polo yet.

Agreed - but I did notice that when I put mine in Sports mode (from the Vehicle menu under ACC for some reason) the engine start stop feature always seems to come up as unavailable. That is, when I stop at lights and Start/Stop is turned on, it just comes up with the Unavailable icon and doesn't turn the engine off. Could be coincidence, and I'm unsure if the Eco/Normal/Sports options are even available on a manual.

No optional sports modes unfortunately so just have to deal for the time being

                Tare Weights
                6R manual TSI 1048kg
                6C manual TSI 1121kg

An extra 73kg. Thats a big difference when its basically the same car.

Ooops. I was comparing the wrong columns. Surely that must be a mistake somewhere on the old brochure....... Since it has 3 door trendline and 5 door comfortline weighing 15-20kg different.

Good to hear, we did look at the Jazz but I never bothered test driving.

                        Slocs,

I have just received my new MY15 Polo Trendline DSG. You mentioned that Think Blue Trainer is available, but there does not seem to be a way to access this on my vehicle. How is this possible? I can select the CAR menu, but there is no method to select the trainer option.

                        Thanks,
                        Joe

This suggests that "Composition Colour Audio System should run it", and this is fitted to both Polo models.
THINK BLUE. TRAINER. for the Polo

Something else I read suggested it runs through Maps and More. Can't find anything that says Polo comes with navigation, so at this point I am confused how it works. Something else suggested it only runs on manuals. Or is it an App that runs on a bluetooth phone??

You should be able to access it by hitting the car button, which will bring up a little image of the car, then hit the car button again.

                            regards
