Grinding noise from D4 to D3

Polo gti travelled 10300km.had 12mth service and oil jets replaced 3 weeks ago. I notice there is grinding noise when down gear from 4 to 3. anyone had this before or anyone know what this related to?clutch , dsg, etc.
Will book in to dealer soon but just want to know abit more .

3rd gear selector fork rattling away I reckon. Is it like a rattling, fast pitched grinding noise? If so, it's a normal noise, albeit a disconcerting one!

I just notice today. Is very short and light grinding noise.i will listen closer tomorrow.

I usually have grinding from 1st to 2nd, sometimes 2nd to 3rd (a bit like grinding sound before changing up to the next gear). Is that sort of operation normal?

Hi gavs,i found u commented on other thread a yr ago.which is exactly what my car doing now.

I you have a rattle going over bumps that is also present when the dsg changes gears, take note of which gear you are in. You will more than likely find that the rattle you are talking about is the standard DQ200 3rd gear selector rattle. Perfectly normal to occur (when in D) in 2nd and 4th gear and when in M it will occur in 2nd, 4th or any other gear that the dsg deems to be too tall and will pre-select 3rd gear.

Car back from dealer. Had a road test with them to replicate the grinding and got told by the technician it is normal. Car plug to computer and hv no abnormal findings. I think they did a reset and thats all. Car still hving the noise and they said is normal. Will keep an eye to see it getting worse or not.will go different dealer next time.
