Had a phone call from the dealer who I purchased a new Polo from and he said "by the way the telephone buttons on the steering wheel, the ones on the right side, don't work on the initial shipment of 400 Polo's, you will have to use the radio head unit to answer or hang up" WTF!

All 400 cars have the same issue and for that matter the first 20,000 already produced have the same issue apparently.
Not an easy fix I am told, to fix it is a new instrument clusterTouareg V6 TDI MY15

Not the point.Originally posted by bushman View PostI dont see the point of the buttons on the steering wheel, as the head unit is perfectly placed within easy reach.
Fair enough on big cars & trucks, but on Polo / Golf they are quite unnesessary
He paid for something that should work... I'd be calling consumer affairs if they dont fix it.

I agree, I think it is just being told that you will not have something when you thought all was good. Tried the above in my 7P 2011 Touareg and I can easily answer and hang up a call from the radio head unit without too much effort.Originally posted by bushman View PostI dont see the point of the buttons on the steering wheel, as the head unit is perfectly placed within easy reach.

Fair enough on big cars & trucks, but on Polo / Golf they are quite unnesessaryI have not paid for anything yet, just paid a deposit and I am trying to get my head around the issue. To be clear this is a new face lift Comfortline Polo that has the issue, in fact the intire first ship load and the first 20,000 off the production line have the issue. Do I spit the dummy and cancel my order, certainly an option I have but one I am not going to exercise. I think the special introductory drive away price reflects the minor inconvenience.Originally posted by Taylor Swift View PostNot the point.

Doesn't matter the price, you are paying for a product which is supposed to work, you have every right as a consumer to get them to fix it, at their cost.
I'd be surprised if they don't come up with a fix for it by the time that the boat reaches shore.I SellNissansSkodas.
