  • G17 Multipurpose Additive

    Hi Guys

Tried a quick search and couldn't see anything. Just had my 1year service and when I picked up the car I noticed a bottle of 'G17 Multipurpose Additive' in the car unopened.

Am I suppose to add this in the car when I'm 'empty' then fill up the tank? Anyone else used this before?

    Thanks

"Audi and VW G17 Multipurpose Additive, part # G-001-770-A2, better known as G17 has been recommended by Audi to help with cold start miss fires and CEL (check engine light) indicators. It has been found that slight carbon build up in the intake, poor gas quality and inefficient fuel injector performance is being observed in the new FSI engines particularly the 2.0L Turbo. The G17 added to the fuel tank prior to fill up cleans the direct fuel injectors and with slight valve overlap cleans minor carbon build up in the intake. By following these measures suggested by the manufacture, G17 is helping to prevent larger intake carbon build up complications. Using G17 at each fill up or at minimum every scheduled maintenance, is a cost effective solution at $7.22 a bottle for better performance, increased mile per gallon and most importantly counteracting known carbon build up in all new FSI engines."

1 bottle per tank at each 15,000km service interval.

Perfect, just had my 1 year service (before 15K km) so I'll add it in tonight

Just had a 1year / 15K service and they added G001770A2. It's done at every service apparently and should show up on the invoice. Strange to have an unopened one in the car but maybe the fuel level was low.
