  • What is the 2014 polo release date?

Sorry this is the second question in a day haha. I'd like to know if anyone else has any idea what the release date is for the 2014 Polo, and whether it's worth waiting for?

I'd say you'd be looking at a delivery date of September 2014 for the Trendline, TDI and TSI. GTI isn't due till first quarter 2015.

Save yourself some cash and buy a current 6R TDI/TSI? because the facelift will only last around 2.5/3 years before a new platform arrives. Either that or look at another brand?

Yeah, pretty sure it's only a facelift.

I doubt there's going to be any significant differences between the MY14s (current model), and the incoming facelifted MY15s, besides the look of them.

Except an updated interior with standard touchscreen from the Mk 7 Golf, new engines, better fuel economy etc.

Well the new model ditches the 1.4L NA engine. Not sure what the trendline will get - low powered 1.2TSI or the new 1L turbo?
More advance infotainment systems, mirrorlink, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance etc become standard or options.

We may get a price leader Polo with the UP!s 1L engine.

              Adjustable suspension becomes an option.

The 1.6L TDI is gone... new 1.4TDI. But i reckon VW Aus will drop the diesel model polos.

What?! No more BT module stuck to the dash?

Clean update, liking the wheels on pic 4 (the 5 x twin spoke) - hope they make it here.

Not sure a price rise will help sales locally though, fierce competition in that section of the market now (notwithstanding it is the superior car available).

It is close in Australia, I've spotted 2 new models on roads around the Chullora headquarters. Both on typical euro WSD press plates.

Shame about the diesel, they say the economy of the TSI is getting close to the TDI. 38% less fuel consumption is pretty big I reckon! It'd do 1200+ k's on a tank easy.

Based on a 45 litre tank capacity...I highly doubt that.

Agreed, I'd say at best Mid 700's with urban / suburban mixed driving and city bumper to bumper to be around the 450/500 mark.
