    Polo Facelift

Looks interesting. The new centre stack seems a bit odd though.

I don't think it could happen in Oz spec models but if the 1.2 is dropped for the Up's 3 cylinder I won't be a repeat buyer. They're horrible. Sound a bit like an old Porsche 6 is the only compliment I could give. That is easily overshadowed by the out of balance vibration you get from 3 cylinders.

I think they're referring to the NA 1.2 three-cylinder found overseas.

Hah finally, auto lights from the factory!

Not a fan of the plastic silver trim, bit too old ford focus for me. Hopefully Piano black will still be in the GTI.

Interesting that they're upping the BHP a bit on the GTI. Keeping the DSG7 and 1.4Twin though. I really do wonder if I can hold out until the Polo R is out, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be here until december or so! (Facelift more like Aug)

The new colours are nice. It'd be good if VW did go beyond the ultra-dull colour palette available for the Golf 7

They've dumped the 1.6 TDI for a three-cylinder 1.4 with the same power, but using 21 percent less fuel. Sounds interesting, on paper at least.

They have also dumped the 1.2tsi (4 cylinder) for a 1.2tsi 3 cylinder which makes slightly more power haha.

I don't think it would be as smooth as the 4 pot but now that they have made the cylinders bigger (300cc's vs 400cc's) it means they can make it a dual cam / 4 valve per cylinder instead of the current SOHC 8 valve - which is so restricting up high.

Also added bonus with this, is that the spark plug can now be placed in the centre of the cylinder (unlike the 4pot which has it next to the exhaust port off to the side) and with that can go back to direct acting coils instead of a big coil pack and annoying HT leads.

Also means that variable valve timing could be possible and thus in all this engine would have better tuning potential than the current one

...or you could get the 110kw 1.4 an have a ball
