DSG Gearbox oil recall

Letters will be sent out by VGA to owners of vehicles affected.
RE software update, copied directly from the work instructions:
Noting that most TPI's now have that last line, probably to try and improve customer service ratings, not that' it's helping....Note.
Not all vehicles are affected by this campaign. Before a repair check with the application "Vehiclespecific
information” in Elsa-Pro or the Dealer Connect system whether the vehicle is affected by this
campaign.
On the affected vehicles the gear oil must be replaced and the software of the gearbox control unit
updated.
Please make sure that on the affected vehicle the check and repair of all open campaigns/measures
are performed during the workshop visit.sigpic

I too found out my polo was affected by this recall via the same vw page. I rung up VW and they said it was strange i hadn't recieved the letter yet.Originally posted by AndrewBurns View PostYep I haven't received a letter yet but I put my vin into a vw web page to check that it was part of the recall. Wanted to get it done soon and avoid long waits.
They then put me through to Nepean Motor Group (My local dealer), and they apparently don't have the new oil in stock and won't for some time...
Hopefully they have it when the car is visiting for a 30k service in the middle of januraryMY13 66tdi polo 'ocean blue', DSG. Comfort Pack, Sports Pack. RNS510 installed. Parking Sensors installed

I need some advice, I've had the recall done on the DSG but now when I hit the gas from standing the power comes on, then drops off until 2nd gear and then it takes off from there. Traction control is off and I have an APR tune. This didn't seem to happen before, is there a chance of some new torque limit being activated or is the clutch slipping? I notice there is a remap from APR that mentions torque limits but I'm not keen on adding another $900 expense to get the gearbox working the way it should / was ...Polo GTI 6R - APR Stage 1

Yeah I have found it does this in D and S modes since the update. It's really annoying as you go to take of quickly - it will move about 20m to get out of first and then give it the beans. I would guess its there to limit torque, it would make sense.Originally posted by bnescooter View PostI need some advice, I've had the recall done on the DSG but now when I hit the gas from standing the power comes on, then drops off until 2nd gear and then it takes off from there. If I do need to take off quick I usually go manual mode, this gets around the problem.
But just because I have the same symptoms doesn't mean it's ok or normal. My gearbox has been a bag of goodies since I got it - it vary rarely has a good day, so it's best to get some more feedback...

[QUOTE=Yaks1974;1017025]Anybody know which build dates are affected? I have an MY13 (Oct 2012), rung VW hotline with VIN details today and they said its not affected by any recall.
It's the earlier models , 2010 and 2011 (I think). I will say that the change down into 2nd is smoother so that has improved.
I've also ordered one of these ScanTool.net LLC - OBDLink MX Scan Tool | OBD Interface | App Accelerator - ScanTool.net to go with the Torque Pro Android App. Hopefully I can record some data and see what what the engine is doing. I may have just wasted $150 AUD but I'm keen to give it a go.Polo GTI 6R - APR Stage 1

I had my car done yesterday at Nepean Motor Group (also my local dealer) with no problems at all.Originally posted by Tdijimmy View PostI too found out my polo was affected by this recall via the same vw page. I rung up VW and they said it was strange i hadn't recieved the letter yet.

I had to wait 4 weeks for a booking, but that's normal these days for Nepean.
The invoice was as follows
Carry out Recall 34F6 as required
**Warranty job**
Trans oil Qty 2 Part G052512A2 (I assume that is 2 litres)
Recall code label Qty 1 Reference 000010006
No additional items

Seems the service receptionist had no idea what she was talking about then!Originally posted by parraeel View PostI had my car done yesterday at Nepean Motor Group (also my local dealer) with no problems at all.

Got the oil change done today (MY13, Dec 12 build). Immediately noticed it eliminated the shuddering at low speeds that I was getting worried about. Early days, will see how we go over timeMY13 Polo GTI - Candy white - Bi-xenons - H&R Sport Springs - Ronal Aristos

Received my 34F6 recall for the DSG about a week ago. Stupid question I know but can someone tell me if the associated software update is done directly to the megatronics unit? ie does it have a port separate to the OBD ecu port? and will my ecu software version be changed during the recall job? I have asked the dealer and VW assist and they have advised we can not give you that info!Originally posted by gavs View PostThat will be the software update.
Reason I ask is I am trying to figure out what ecu software version I currently have on my GTI (Feb 2013 build date) so I can pass it on to ABT with my order for its tune for the CTHE motor.
I think maybe a trip to MRL (Miro) is the only way I will find out what ecu software I have?2015 Polo GTI with DA pack : Milltek Turbo back exhaust | DD spacer | JB1 | VWR Turbo Intake elbow and intake hose | BMC panel filter | KW Street Comfort coilovers | Whiteline adjust. endlinks | Harding DSG Perf. tune | Wagner Intercooler| Dotz Mugello 17 x 8 32ET
