I have a squealing noise on my Polo gti. It s happen when turning left and right. But now I notice it happen when straight too. The noise pattern is follow the wheel spinning and can happen without me pressing the brake . It's not happen all the time and I am thinking to book in for a check at the dealer but before I do that I want see anyone can give me some directions. As I know it will be likely unable to reproduce the noise at the dealer. So I just want to have bit more knowledge before I go. sorry for my description, is hard to explain in words. Any idea will be helpful. Power steering, bearing, shafts or any thing else.

Is it when you might be accelerating, even slightly with low revs? If so there is a chance it's the supercharger clutch. I had it for about 5000kms and put up with it because since then it no longer squeals which I was told would happen, rather than letting some numpty apprentice pull the front of the engine apart only to forget to put something back and then have the same squeal return after a further 5000kms.sigpic

I did accelerate little bit and also I just let it roll too. It not always happen and did go away when my car is travelled between 2000-3000km.it start again ard. 3100km.I not too worry if nothing serious and yes I don't want people undo my car unnecessarily.

It happen when im not step on the brakes. But may i ask is there any chance the pad still contacting the rotors even im not stepping on it. And when turnning to left it more likely to happen. So it may be the pad too new and have dust sometimes?2013 POLO GTI Black

Technically speeking the pad allways has some contact with the disc, even when your not braking - mind you it's only a very tiny amount.
This is the reason most brakes squeal - because the wear indicator constantly scrapes along the disc.
It could be possible for the rubber sleeve on the brake caliper to have enough force to push the pads away from the disc but most times it would not - which would be why it's scraping sometimes.
Not sure if these pads have wear indicators though...never bothered to check.
Also I found that the squeaking I was getting was from my clutch (DSG). It would slip and would squeak until it engaged fully. Even with the new clutches I get it very occasionally.
I assumed it was heat related but I have gotten it on cold days when I haven't been pushing it and nothing on very hot days when I have been pushing it so it's not that. I'm thinking its more mechatronics related and it not applying enough pressure...

I get a similar noise and I notice it particularly at low speeds in car parks. I believe it's brake squeal where the hill-hold feature hasn't released the brakes fully. I'm yet to take it in to have it checked though.Gone: Aug 2013 Build MY14 Polo GTI | Candy White | RNS510 | Panoramic Sunroof | Bi-Xenons | Rear Parking Sensors
