There is a GTI for 28K drive away in Victoria.

Forget spending $3K+ for the RNS510 retrofit.

Love it. Love the acceleration, love the handling, but...

Plenty of regrets on my end.

Have added over 11 L of oil.

        3 oil consumption tests.

        3rd set of clutches.

        All within 36000 km.

Dealer has been great, but it is still under warranty. Really, REALLY worried about keeping it beyond warranty...

I, too, wish I had gone with a Golf GTI in retrospect....

It's not the fact it's covered, its more the point that in 2 years, 4 months of ownership, my car has been back for 8 separate warranty claims. 8 friggin times!!!! It's booked in for it's 9th and 10th next january to be looked at when the recall is done and i just noticed my bloody rear washer nozzle is leaking, AGAIN!!

I couldn't give a rat's about an extended warranty because the point is, it shouldn't need it.

This reply sums up why I'm moving on from my shopping trolley ASAP, my two other vehicles have only been to the service center once a year...for their service haha. Volkswagen has a lot to answer for, especially when Ford and co are designing / building their hot hatches in Germany.

Sorry to keep busting everyones balls.

But has there been many issues with the 2013 model?

They are still essentially the same as any other year, any revisions appear to be small and there is still a possibility that the same issues turn up.

Still...it's a great car, but there is some risk.

When I enter a MY13 VIN into erWin, nearly all the same issues come up under the TPI's. The fact that people are STILL getting the fuel line rattles should be testament to VW's ability to implement fixes....
