  • Bushfire smoke and engine performance

    Hey all,

I was just wondering, with the smoke that's been blanketing Sydney for the past few days. how does this affect engine/turbo's performance? Does sucking in dirty, smokey air affect the amount of power the engine can produce or how well it runs?

    Cheers
    Michael

My TDi polo seems to be preforming just as good as it has pre bushfire and i live right in the middle of the Blue Mountains.

However, my airconditoner seems to have it the stench stuck in it. Trying to think of ways to get rid of it after the bushfire is gone

In my experience, the worst of the bushfire smoke is usually miles and miles away from the fire itself. It shoots up high into the air at the source of the fire then the winds blow it and it slowly settles wherever the winds blow it. I think the SAFEST place for us to be is close to the fires!
