H&R VW Polo 6R Sports Springs

I am looking at getting H&R springs for my 6R Polo 77tsi

Can I use the 35/55mm (904) or 25/40mm (890)?
Sorry if this has already been asked, I am just not sure which springs can be used for this polo.

I currently have the sports pack with 17" Boavista wheels

Not sure if the 35/55mm ride is going to be to harsh for everyday driving?

what would be the consequences of using the rear springs only with the sports pack front? I dont want to go down any more at the front. The front lip is already a bit of a hassle at times. But the back is like a landcruiser. I assume that 55mm drop is from standard height, meaning approx 40mm lower than it is now. Which would be about right for me.

Harshness comes from the springs not being matched to the factory dampers. Most generic lowering springs are developed to match the factory dampers otherwise the company would get a bad rep if they were unbearable to live with.

You can use either drop, it just depends on what you are after buy remember that the lower you go in the rear, the more stupid it looks because the rear wheel will tuck into the front of the wheel arch and no longer be centered.

Sorry for the dig up of a month old Thread. I'm looking to get my new polo lowered, i've spoken to a local performance shop to do a drive in drive out option with them supplying the springs.

I've been informed it will cost me $600, they will also only supply king springs. Am i best to source the springs myself and get them to install them? They've quoted that option at $400.

Any advice would be great!

I wouldn't go with King's over others unless they were better value, which in this case they are not.

I myself am paying $600 installed for 25/40 H&Rs on my gti next week. This seems to be the ballpark.

I called around for install only quotes and was getting between 3-400 which works out. Look on the h&r or eibach website to find dealers, but a lot of other Tyre centres will also happily source the springs too, most Tyrepower outlets I spoke with had relationships with both.

Can anyone point out the differences between 25/40 and 35/55 springs? (For my own learning). I've always wondered and how much is the drop
And is scrubbing an issue with springs?

Everyone tends to go H&R but TS have you considered the VWR springs made for the Polo?

Most people go for the H&R springs for the price and sizes available compared to the VWR springs - though I would expect the VWR springs to be better matched to the dampers for a smoother ride, which brings me on the next point...

Don't ever get the H&R 35/55 springs for use with OEM shocks. The ride is just unbearable, rock hard and it bangs over every small bump, speed humps become a nightmare - only plus is that the car is as tight as anything...

Also even with stock 17" you get (very little) scrubbing on the front under tight cornering over decent sized bumps - nether the less it scrubs so with 18" it would probably be pretty bad.

H&R 25/40 springs are definitely the way to go, most people get them, and it's a excelent balance between low, comfort and stability

If it only scrubs occasionally with the 17s then 18s with the right tyres (215/35 or 205/40) would only scrub occasionally as well. For instance, when I fist had my coils installed and wasn't super low, even with 18s and oversized tyres (225/40) it wouldn't scrub more than the boas, and that was only very rarely.
