What is involved as a stage 2 on the 6R?
Not listed on APR website.
I've been looking for an Australian Dyno of a Stage 2, does one exist? I don't like many of the foreign ones, they seem to read a lot higher than the local ones (or there is something fundamentally wrong with running a car in the southern hemisphere)
I know tuning companies use different terminology about what constitutes a phase, but I think the APR GTI made 161kw at the wheels with turbo upgrade. At least that's what I remember James telling me out at QR a while ago so pretty spot on Gavs.

As far as I know (and guy can give the 100% correct answer) the apr project polo doesn't run a different turbo... It's at stage 2 (with a LSD) which is exhaust, intake, intercooler, tune etc...
Our project Polo (in its last state of tune) was running a locally built Hybrid Turbo. It actually ran wheels that were bigger than Loba's 270.
Best dyno figures were just shy of 170wkw which would equate (on our dyno) to ~ 200kw crank. We have run a lot of Volkswagens on our dyno (hundreds) so the figures line up very comparable to a stage 2 Golf GTI MK6.
The issues on the turbo side of things were overboost control & misfires. These were exacerbated by control at a raised RPM shift point with the DSG (and the precise shift point the DSG could control with the torque manager).
We never ran the car on race gas as it was on the stock engine. The conrods are the smallest I have seen in a production engine for some time. They look like they are out of a lawnmower. We were not comfortable pushing the cylinder pressures up any higher on the stock rods (and pistons which have now proven to be soft and under size in a lot of engines).
Water meth / race gas would make more power, but the other issues would restrict ultimate output (valve springs & port sizing).
We had a differential built for the car (first in the world we understand) and with our DSG software - the car was fast. It cut easy 1:10 second laps at Wakefield on trashed tyres with baby seats in the back (Short shifting). Warren Luff ran the same times with the smaller turbo on it (with fresh tyres) and a stock transmission. I'm sure if he had another drive in the last phase, he would have run 1:08's in it.
To push bigger numbers out of this engine (real ones, not internet ones) a Hybrid turbo would require a larger manifold & the size of the exhaust port & manifold would have to increase by at least 40% (ie, port & runner size on the 1.4 compared to a TSI K03 is ~ 40% larger). You would need a built engine, serious head work, a manual transmission. It would then be an absolute rocket ship.
P.S. an intercooler is an absolute must to advance even to stage 2 level. I would put it on before the exhaust.

Reason: more info
Also we have some parts leftover from project Polo if anyone is interested.
DSG Box with plate differential (no mechatronics) $4k
Prototype intercooler & all fittings $900
2.75" full exhaust. $900
H&R Coilovers $1200 (with adjustable top camber mounts)
HP Swaybar set (pair) $400
Oz racing 17" Ultraleggera wheels (2 sets)
1 set with 50%worn Hankook 221 semi slicks $1500
1 set bare $1200 (both sets of wheels in VGC - no gutter rash).
