Hi guys

Not sure if anyone has answered -looked but found nothing specific...
The placard says about 270(rough conversion 39) but it seems high to me...
What tyre pressure for the polo gti do you guys recommend? 214/40/17 tyre size

VW spend millions of $$ on working out whats' the best pressures for the tyre to car ratio, I would stick with what the fuel cover sticker says personally..I see a lot of over and under inflated tyres and the are ruined. Keep them at the recommended amount and then keep checking them every 5,000km or so if they are wearing on the middle of the tread more then reduce the pressure, if they are wearing more on both outside edges then increase the pressures...VDUB...

39 sounds high for stock, but is what I would run my fronts at for optimum life vs handling.

I tend to run my rears a bit lower as there is less weight to keep them flat on the road, say 36...

Low profile tyres need higher pressures because they have less air in them to provide cushioning. There's less sidewall to cushion you from bumps.

There's no real reason to deviate from the manufacturer's instructions or specifications unless you wish to alter the car's dynamic behaviour.
