Loose ECU Box?

Whilst poking around under the bonnet yesterday, I noticed that (what I think to be) the ECU isn't attached very firmly and is quite loose. It doesn't feel as if it's going to come off, but it doesn't feel firmly attached...

Has anyone else found their ECU to be loose? Is it supposed to be loose?

Here's a photo to make it clearer. I'm referring to the silver box above the air intake box.

Wow that looks compleatly different to mine haha but yes they are all a tad loose. It won't come off unless you undo the clips but you can't tighten up the plate. I had a look on mine and yeah still loose

Woah, really? Is yours a 77TSI? What does your ECU look like?

Sorry my bad, mine is the same. For some strange reason I thought that silver coin thing was on the left and there was no hump to the right...stupid brain

Looking at one the from a GTI from the other thread the 77TSI's are very different to the GTI's that's for sure!

Is yours DSG. Of so that's the trans TCU. Not sure about TSI but GTI ECU is on the front of the firewall under the cover at the base of the windscreen.

The DSG ECU is inbuilt into the mechatronics unit which is located at the front - bottom of the gearbox.

Got me stumped I have the Same box on mine and I know it's not the ecu.

Looks like an ECU mounted a bit sideways (my cables attach from the bottom on the older model).

That is the ECU, although I am surprised there's no data sticker on it.

Got me stumped I have the Same box on mine and I know it's not the ecu.

It is the ecu.
