  • Next Generation Polo - In today's paper

Spotted this while flicking through the Drive section of today's paper...

Interesting? Wonder if they'll drop the twincharge engine from this model.

God I hope it doesn't look like that when they release it.

Glad it hasn't changed much. The current model will keep its value a little more now. One of the good things about conservative styling.

I recon it looks allright but this is purely a face lift not a new car from the ground up. I think this will be similar to the previous 9n to a 9n3. This will be like a 6rX.

i reckon its a rubbish photoshop. Too far away from the passat and golf 7 to be believable.

Twin charger will go. Will get the turbo only 1.4 from mk7 golf I recon.

I'm sure its a photoshop but i wouldn't bet on it being too far off the mark. But "spy pic" it ain't.

Not sure why the new polo would be designed like the mk7 golf when the golf is designed like the 6r? Wasn't the polo the first with this new brand styling?

The Polo TDI and TSI I believe were the first to be a part of the new MQB platform +1

The 6R Polo is NOT part of the MQB platform. They said the golf mk7 and new audi a3 are the first of any VAG model to use it. I think the Polo 6R was the first to use the new styling model (an easy way to see is the change from round red taillights to L shaped taillights)

Yes the Polo is based on the PQ25 platform, but the 6R did set a lot of the styling cues that are now in the Jetta and Mk7 Golf. Mostly the air vent design, style of the hazard buttons and the rear lights.
