RCD510 plays with no key in ignition - bug or feature?
RCD510 plays with no key in ignition - bug or feature?
Basically every European car in the world allows you to use the radio without the ignition being on. Try pressing the volume button in with ignition off and the radio will turn on. I think it has a timer set for a certain amount of time after which it will switch off again, but I'm not sure how long that is (maybe 30 mins or so).
Yep most european cars these days do that (even my previous ford territory did it). They require no key to use the audio system, just push the power button and away you go! Guess its a safety feature or something so kids don't start the car when they are left listening to the radio.
The relay times out after 1 hour and will automatically switch off the unit.
yeh what? 20 seconds... slowwww mine pops up instantly, if you leave it on also when you lock the car mine turns off

It should run for 20 minutes or so, before you have to cycle the ignition and give it a CAN signal again.
Gone are the days when people would rig up a car radio to some speakers in the shed
