I am going to pick up the car later this afternoon and show them the issue that my car doesn't always lock on first press and I will demand they install the software update. I wish there was a code reference for this
Forget Barloworld. If you live in the Eastern burbs and want to have your car taken care of by a good dealer, go to Burwin VW!

First they tell me there is no TPI update, then they tell me it's working fine.

So I try to show them and it behaved itself. The second I got home, playing up again each and every key press.
The problem is known to occur only after you turned the engine on and then off, such as when you come back home and get out of the car. If you then unlock it and want to lock again, it will work! It's not necessarily related to the boot lid.

The first time I went to Burwin VW, I parked, got out of the car, had it play up while locking, but when the service guy tried it, it worked just fine. So the second time I went there I parked WITHOUT LOCKING IT and gave the service guy the key to try and lock it. That's when he realised that there was in fact a problem!

Regarding the reference number (TPI), see one of my earlier posts in this thread: I called them to ask for that number but they said they cannot give out VW-internal information. So I suggest you just go straight to Burwin VW.

PS: Even when the service dude couldn't reproduce the issue the first time around, he still didn't say everything was fine. That's why I love Burwin VW. They don't ever make you look stupid.

VW has now released an official TPI/software upgrade that FIXES that problem.

I just had it done on my car last week and the problem is gone! So go to your dealers and get your Polos updated!
Hey mate could you please let me know who you spoke to at Burwin so that I can call him and book this in with him?

As i've said, i took my car into Barloworld and they said there was no TPI update and they couldn't help me.

I called Burwin Ferntree Gully and they can't tell me if there is an update or not until I bring the car in to them. They told me if I gave them the rego of your car they can check to see what TPI update it is and apply the same for me. Could you please pm me your rego number if you don't mind?

Ok, as an update I have downloaded the relevant TPI for this and will update the stickies with it.

How about a list of relevant TPI's?

Happens to me sometimes until I develop the habit of pressing serveral times at one go. Waste battery life but at least ilocks. Need TPI to ask for the updates to be done. TPI details?
