Polo VR 6 R32 Engine project gone...why?

I've been pondering about the new A class Mercedes for quite some time...now that the 90k Edition 1 has been released and slatted for sale late 2013...The project is officially dead and gone...but I'll still keep my polo

The only reason I made this topic is due in part most of you were happy for me about my quest in installing a VR 6 3.2l V6 in my baby but damn...that money is more suited to a 265kw Screamer!

Well, well, well. Maybe this is what I will trade my Polo GTI for, when the time comes!

But the cost will most certainly make it impossible, anyway...

Any idea what price we can expect?

Probably looking at around $80-85k for entry level, then you start customising... I wouldn't be unsurprised if quite a few of these sell over $100k with the massive customisation and spec options.

(Really not a Polo competitor in any way shape or form!)

for 54k you can get a fair optioned A250 with AMG sports package on it and she packs a nice 155KW

Yeah probably can but the AMG A45 is a while different league. The BMW 1M was priced at $99k so I'd expect similar from Benz

The M135i is about 75K though, so i'd think it'd be closer to that

Doubt it. The A45 is going to be in a different league to the M135i. I'm still betting on closer to $100k

Actually I sold it last night to a family friend and broke even (no loss/gain).

So it has gone to a good home

Not it isn't, the M135i is only down 20kW and has the same torque. 4.9 to 100 (A45 4.6). Why should the A45 cost a massive 20K more?
