This graph makes me sad... and explains why I am still having engine issues with my GTi after 2 repairs......

Very interesting that Mitsubishi is further down than VW! Jap normally means reliable.

Current Ride: Golf GTI Mk7 MY2014|DSG|Carbon Steel

I think the only good thing Mitsu has made is the Evo.

My 2002 lancer was a LEMON, worse than my GTi.

The Magna was one of the worst cars ever built (not so much the later models though)

Just worth noting that is for US cars. The most popular VW there is the Mexican built Jetta, I got given one for two days when they were fixing the muffler on my Polo and it is a terrible rattle box.

I think people would find it interesting that in australia, VW is the WORST brand in regards to reliabilty, customer service, aftersales support and owner perception. This has resulted in VGA "apparently" trying to fix the problems with their customer service.

They would want to when they give out tracking numbers for express post parcels that don't even exist and promise for 2 months "you will have the letter tomorrow" and yet even with daily reminders, they still DON'T FU*KING SEND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wonder if I should name names so it pops up in goolge searches.....

Regarding custmer service. I have been waiting 3 weeks to receive $1000 cheque when I was told I'd have it in 4 days.

It is interesting to note that the actual average from the table they provided is 138.4, rather than the "industry average" of 126....

Team_V, that 126 would be based on the samples within each brand.

But still, an industry average of 1.26 issues per car?
1.74 for VW, and 2.2 for Land Rover?

                  32 brands, 37,000 respondents.
I wonder what their sample size for this survey per brand, and what counts as an issue/problem.
E.g. at 3 years most cars would be looking at replacement tyres and batteries

From about 2002 (the squished nose) they were better.
I had a 2004 before the Polo, and the only only a handful of issues in 6 years.
                      1. Centre brake light came un-glued from the rear window (warranty fix)
                      2. Random stalls because of a dying battery (new battery fixed it)
                      3. As I went to sell it I had some issues with the electric windows (fixed with WD40)
                      4. Also as I went to sell it one of the windscreen washer jets got blocked up (40c part)

Generally an awesomely reliable car, it's a shame they didn't keep making them, I hear the 380 was even better

They can't do anything if you are chasing money, you need to go to your local community administrative tribunal, I.e VCAT or QCAT etc.
