Club, TSI and a new GTI makes 3!

So after a late lunch with my girlfriend today (shift workers) we decided to go down to the newly opened Rockdale VW and have a look. My GF has been thinking about a GTI or a golf 118 for a while and we thought lets make a move.

1 hour later and she is signing papers.

I had the thread from this forum open on my phone with the specs on peoples various prices and it was a good help so thanks to everyone who contributed.

For the record she got a Candy White MY12.5 with the leather and comfort pack for $32k drive away, less a trade in on her 2004 Mazda 3 with 100k on it we got it down to $25k drive away.

All in all I think we got a pretty good deal and I'm hoping she won't mind if I accidentally drive off to work confusing her GTI with my TSI.

Also it has the GTI wheels which have the black inserts and the metallic facing. these are the Detroits yes? they look hot!

Yea that's a good price considering it has leather upgrade. But I wasn't aware the 12.5's had Detroit's. Are you sure it's not a my13? Also is it a CAV or CTH engine code. (It will be on your registration papers).

I'll have to double check but I'm almost certain it was a July build date. Never registered and only got 50kms on it from delivery and two test drives.

Believe it or not there are people swapping there detroits for denvers off cars on the lot I've heard of a thew. One just recently. A guy ordered a silver 5 door GTI with sunroof and xenons which was a my12.5 when it arrived the salesman screwed up and order a three door. So another car was ordered and by now it was a my13 whoch he had the, swap the denvers of the three door for detroits so the ended up with a three door GTI my12.5 with detroits on the floor.

Picked up the new GTI yesterday afternoon.

WOW!

I love my comfortline but the leather interior in the GTI, combined with the dark headlining and inserts is just super nice. The thing goes hard, and I haven't even given it a proper squirt yet.

The girlfriend is most impressed. She kept giggling when she drove it cause she couldnt believe how nice it was.

Reminds me of my GF when she drove my car, literally giggled like a little girl as she kept dragging off everyone at the lights and passing everyone on hills. So effortless!

I couldn't get over the extra grip myself. I've driven GTIs so know that they are quick but just throwing it into the corners is awesome.

Think I'm going to have to go coilovers/sway bar on my TSI or I might get too jealous!
