Hmmm, so it's about 26 outside and turned the car on and the fan was blowing, but the air was just as hot as outside. The ac was on auto and was set to about 20. Came home, switched the car off and back on again and now it works again.
Nah the AC was on and we weren't idling, we were driving up Harkaway road doing 80 km/h. It's done it before when the DPF was doing its thing but I put that down to the increased heat in the engine bay.
Must just be a weird glitch.
I've actually had this occur a few times as well. I found it was dependent on the weather and where the car is. For example when it is 24/25 (or so) outside but the basement car park was quite cool, car comes out of the basement and the air cond didn't work. No amount of on/offing of the climate control would start it. Quick restart of enging fixed it.
On all occasions it occured (maybe 3 times), the car was in the basement and the temp outside was a little warmer, warm enough to need the air cond.

Always works again after engine re-start.
