Those are pirate copies and they don't work well with 2011+ cars, the genuine one is a Ross Tech Hex+Can. The cheaper Micro-CAN won't work

Theres lots of people, especially in melb, which have cables who can help out too

Club VW supersprint at Wakefield Park is on May 25th. I'm just putting together the permit paperwork for it now.
Wollongong Sporting Car Club's Huntley Hillclimb at Dapto next weekend 3rd February. Entry forms etc available from www.wscc.org.au\download.shtml now. If you are 21 or under its there's free entry and membership for this.

Minimum standards for these 2 events you will need:
            - a Level 2 Speed Licence - just a matter of filling out the form and parting with cash.
            - membership of a CAMS affiliated car club (any of them, you can search for one on CAMS website under development > clubzone.
            - 900g fire extinguisher fitted to the car removable by the driver without tools. Apart from screwing it directly to the floor/tunnel/a pillar, usually you make a bracket with aluminium plate that bolts in with the seat mounts and attach the fire extinguisher to it. When you buy a fire extinguisher look at the date. They are only allowed to be 3 years old. They may be approaching that on the shelf.
            - battery triangle, just make a triangle with blue electrical tape.
            - numbers on both sides. Make them with tape, white boot polish, print them on paper and stick them to the inside of the windows.
            - taped headlight glass for the sprint.
            - AS1509( think it is ) helmet.
            - Non synthetic clothing from neck to wrists to ankles. Cotton socks, leather shoes.

At huntley you wont need anything special in brakes. You'll only use them once on the track. At Wakefield they will get hot. They will probably start to fade by the end of your 4 flying laps but they wont go to the floor. There are 3 hard brakes but they are spaced out.

Its a bizarre rule but if you do races you actually dont need a fire extinguisher at all.
