There is a massive difference in the price of the gti and the tsi. Looking in the thread where people are posting their deals, the gtis are approx $30K, some people are getting a tsi with sports pack for $20K. Add a few hundred for the DNA tune and you have a manual semi gti and $9K in your pocket. You wont be looking over shoulder for oil consumption and DSG issues.

The sports pack doesnt include any of the body kit. Thats lots of extra $$$. In my opinion the sports pack is well worth the money. However if you are going to go for bigger wheels, coilovers, dark tint then its a waste. Save you cash and give yourself $10K for mods/fuel. Definitely get the comfort pack though. You'd be mad to pass that up, I think it is was only about $500-600. Rain sensor wipers, semi auto aircon, and my favourite, the auto dimming rear view mirror.

I drove a skoda as well as the polo. You dont get 6 speed box or VW refinement in the skoda. Its in no way a terrible car, but its not as good.

Edit: Im not totally anti gti. If there was a manual gti with the applicable sans dsg price drop I would have jumped at it. I cant comprehend why it doesnt exist. Whatever technical issue there is against it, they need to resolve it. I'm sure they'd have twice the supply problem if they did. I just need 3 pedals.

Find your local dealer and you might geta bargain.

The chassis is from an older model. One whole year older. Big fat hairy deal. I challenge any normal person to tell the difference under anything but the most challenging conditions.
The interior is definitely less plush than the polo, but the odd Bluetooth module hanging off the Polo's dash ruins the look. Build quality was perfect. Haven't found anything to quibble over at all.
Seats hug you nicely and only a fraction less plush than the polo.
Standard options? Not sure if that is what you meant but the Skoda has everything. Excellent Bluetooth integration mp3 aux hill start assist cruise climate control stainless steel sills multi function display centre console folding arm rests so many things I can't remember them all.

And it drives like a demon or a damsel depending on your mood. Not the car for everyone but we love ours

Just to pull you up there mate, the Fabia RS is built off the same platform as the 9n3 polo so yes, in terms of last model vs new model sold, the difference is 12 months but the 9n chassis is still ~6 years old. The mk4 golf platform which is fundamentally the same lasted 10 years before being changed to the 9n chassis.

But, we digress. The op wanted to know about bolt on parts.

      Suspension:
There are more suspension options out there for the 77tsi than the GTI, you just need to know where to look. Look for online stores from the eu, good pricing with our dollar.

      Intakes:
Short of induction noise you won't be seeing any legible gains unless you have an accompanying tune I which, DNA is the only local tuner to have one.

That's about it really in terms of performance. There is heaps about in terms of cosmetic upgrades but that's not what I think you are really after.

Looks like stage I only for the base model. Is this company already known on the forum?

Those prices aren't too amazing, I believe the DNA package is around $700 for the 77Tsi. He also hangs around these forums and has a good rep for service.
