Coilovers versus springs

I would like to hear anyone's experiences and/or knowledge regarding suspension mods to POLO 6R. I am considering modifying my 77TSI however, somewhat confused on the choice of options.

I would like the ride hights of the H&R 35/55 springs although I am reading that some do not like the firm ride. My questions are:

Are coilovers less firm than springs? (or are there different coilovers makes with different firmness?)

What products are available that people may have tried or heard of?

Who sells suspension componenets and does a decent job fitting them in Vioctoria?

VEEEUU, I am locking this thread because as with the tyre thread, there are sooooooooo many of these threads on the forum already.
