windscreen wipers service setting

not sure if this has been talked about before
went into vw today to have my a pillar trim replaced as it was marked at delivery,anyway got talking to mate who is in service and he told me about this feature so you can lift the wipers and not catch them on the bonnet i.e cleaning the windscreen.
what you do is switch ign on then off then push down on wiper stalk and wipers will stop half way up windscreen

Or just turn ign off when wipers get in right spot Something about it in my manual I think.

Service position is mentioned in the manuals. Otherwise it's very uncomfortable to try and change wiper blades

When turning OFF the engine after a drive press down on the RIGHT steering column stalk (the single wipe setting). The wipers will go to a vertical position and stay. (You MUST do it within 10 seconds of turning off the car otherwise it turns off the relay to do it)

When you turn the car on again they will return to the normal horizontal position automatically.
