Depends on how much you want the Golf. You'd lose a bit of money on the Polo. I'm thinking of selling mine (7 mth old White, 3dr, xenons, sunroof, 11k on the clock). Would probably advertise for $28k and accept a bit less than that. Still not sure that I'd be able to sell it though. I reckon I'd be struggling to get more than 21k as a trade in,

Will have to wait and see how the mk 7 drives. Personally I wouldn't do it as the Golf TSI won't be as focussed as the Polo GTI. Plus I don't need the extra room. Depends on what you want out of a car.

Current Ride: Golf GTI Mk7 MY2014|DSG|Carbon Steel
        Previous Ride: Polo GTI MY2012|DSG|RNS510|Shadow Blue|Lenso GF7 18” rims

Currently not much second hand stock of Polo GTI around with low km so price should be good for low km cars with 2 year warranty etc

Hopefully this is the case. Just waiting for a trade quote on an 86 now. Will use this as a baseline and put the car on the market for $28k over the next week or so. Just signed the contract for the 86.

Polo GTI will hold its resale value far better than a mid spec golf....
                            supply vs demand and rarity....
2018 Ralyee Green RS wagon. Fully optioned.
Previous vehicles:2015 Volvo V60 Polestar (my one detour from VW/Skoda!)
2013 Platin grey RS wagon / 2012 White Polo GTI / 2009 Black 125 Tiguan
