    Except, if you are like me, what you have wiped off the dipstick in your paranoia about whether it is actually using any or not I am starting to think my paranoid $25 purchase of the special VW oil was a waste - it will likely reach it's expiry date before I even need it.

      Just thought I'd add to this, have had my Polo GTI for a week now and I've found it SUPER economical. And Im driving with a bit of a lead foot, mind. On the drive from Adelaide to Sydney it used maybe $150 of petrol in total (98 octane) and averaged somewhere around 5.5L/100km. Since getting to town and driving around Sydney, I'm averaging in the high 7's which I think is very good for the way I drive! My last car was a Commodore which averaged 14.1L/100km around town! (And a full tank of E10 was usually more than $100).
