So, my sister and I were just about to leave Harkaway for the big trek to the city (oh wait, did that last night and thismorning). Jumped in the polo, my sister driving and as she was backing out she managed to run into the bloody Megane. The Renault's got a few tiny scratches on the rear black bumper bit, but the rear bumper on the Polo's ruined on the driver's side corner.
Kinda spoiled the excitement of going to a Gotye concert. Oh well, we're in the city now (Linlithgow avenue, Melbourne) if you see a pepper grey TDI with a broken rear bumper, that'll be us.
And to think that I just waxed the thing!
Nobody happens to have a cheap rear bumper do they?

after seeing that pic, I reckon it could be repaired and reshaped by a good panel shop. They can heat it up and pop it back to shape well now days...

Would still need a respray because of that crack though, so who knows how the labour would compare to getting the part :|

Might be beyond repair, I dont think there is an "easy way out".

Car manufactures are "making mirrors" for a reason.

"Don't worry, we'll be watching you", don't want our cars damaged.

Well thank you everyone. Yeah I assumed the whole bumper would need replacing and I said to my sister how lucky it was that she didn't hit the door or something – that would be expensive!
Tigger and Wolfgang, you guys crack me up. By the way the concert was possibly the most amazing thing I've ever been to.
Anyway we're back on the freeway on the way home, geez the Polo loves long journeys! Helps clean up the DPF as well.

Assuming you have comprehensive insurance, I would just pay the $500 excess and you can have both cars looking like new again

Me thinks that would be 500 excess for each claim, so $1000? Assuming they are with the same insurance company of course.

Yeah I think you're right but we haven't really looked into it yet so we'll find out.
