DASH mounted bluetooth voice control

apolagies if this has already been answered.
i picked up my new polo comfortline this week,
and im using an iphone 4s.
i have gone into phone book and voice tagged a few favorite contacts.
now my understanding was that to call them i would just hit my steering wheel button ( comfort and sport packs)
and say " call amy" or "call amy mobile" etc.
however whenever i do this it says something like, call history, or, who would you like to call, number please?
it just will not let me voice dial a number !
am i doing something wrong

I have same problem. I have tried calling nearly every one of my contacts. Have never managed to make a call.

"Dial number" works perfectly fine though. Unfortunately I only know 2 phone numbers and one of them is my own.

Not sure if the GTI is different to the other models with regards to the MFD and controls - but o you see your phone directories in the MFD phone panel?

I've been able to tag voice codes to my friends names in there, and it worked, before I disabled the touch-to-talk button on the steering wheel.

DASH mounted bluetooth voice control

No premium mfd like the gti unfortunately. I figured out using the touch panel voice control button and getting the guy to speak it works great
