Genuine sports lip on GTi - why won't it fit?

Hi all

I’m looking at getting the Front Sports Spoiler from VW but apparently it wont fit a GTi.

Anyone know why it won’t fit, are the bumpers that different?

Last but not least... Do you thing it can be made to fit??!

It will fit, just the Vw computer says it doesn't. Have a search on uk forums because I can think of a white GTI and a black GTI with it fitted but, be warned, it looks odd without the side skirts with it....
