  • Wheel option for Polo GTI

Probably been done to death but here goes.

Polo GTI (6R) stock wheels and tyres are 17X7, 5X100, Offset 46, 215/40/17. Now, I have H&R springs installed (25/40). Interested to know if it be possible to mount 18X8, 5X100, Offset 45, 225/35/18? Any opinions on performance, legalities, stance etc.????

    Wheel option for Polo GTI

Legally they will be fine, I think you will be ok regarding tyre scrub but maybe you will be pushing the friendship to the brake caliper, you might be looking at 12mm less clearance...

        Then that would be illegal?

Yeah, just as I thought, that offset is killing me at that size.
What about 18X7.5, 5X100 and offset of 38, 225/35/18 tyres? seems like it may be a "more perfect" fit???

7.5 et38 is good not 100% sure on tires but I'd probably stick to 215. From your wheel specs I'm guessing you're looking at enkeis?

Bang on! JexL, EDR9s. I was thinking the same thing about the tyres

4mm less clearance with that option, should be ok

From my calculations, going with this option will give you 13mm extra clearance from your springs on the inner wall and .7mm less clearance to the guard. This is comparing this option to your previous option of 18x8J et45

Sorry to hijack the thread, but does anyone know what size & offset combinations I can get in the Sparco assetta gara wheels? Also a stockist here in Aus?

I think the distributer is named AMG Australia (wwww.amgaustralia.com Importers of BBS, OZ Racing and HRE wheels Australia) who are distributers for Oz Racing wheels which Sparco is a subsidiary. Also check out Tire Rack, not too sure if they are willing to export these wheels though.

Offset options are pretty tame though.. 18x8 +45 seems to be the most aggressive in that wheel type
