    Hey all,

Just wanted to ask a question. I am and always have been a fan of manual cars, and for that reason I have been using the dsg in manual mode most if not all the time. Is the gearbox going to be ok with this use, or would you recomend saving it for only those times when one wishes to engage a little more with the car. I happen to think that the paddles are great and i'm not mising a true manual at all as I find that shifting with my hands on the wheel allows me to focus more on cornering when I am having some fun!

Perfectly fine my friend. After all, it is just software. Those paddles are not connected to anything mechanically other than the screw boss on the steering wheel.

In fact, you will probably find that you may well prolong the life of your clutches because the gearbox won't get lazy and change up too early, thereby slipping the clutches. Hence why the APR dsg software update makes the change from 1st to 2nd happen later.

I am interested in how people think everything a new car does, that their old car didn't, is "a problem".
haha fair comment mate....but it's just that there's so many negative experiences with this DSG gearbox on this forum that it freaks me out when it does something out of the "ordinary" that my old automatic cars never did!!!
