  • Is it possible to put the Golf R drive line into a Polo?

Me and a mate were discussing this at work.

I wonder if it is possible?

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Lets have a discussion!!

What I was concerned with was the length of the wheel base. I reckon the engine should fit in quite well. I was even thinking it might be a viable idea chucking in the 2.0 turbocharged FSI engine.

They fit in a Quattro drivetrain into an A1. So I guess that might be the more feasible system to cannibalize.

                  The toy or the kit?

Well the engine set me back $2500 at the wreckers with drive train, cables, control unit (computer) and gearbox was cheap at $1,500.

I will eventually do the project...4 years +...the A-Class AMG reveal doesn't help...
