  • Underseat drawers

    Hi Guys,

I am wondering if it is possible to retrofit underseat drawers that were originally available in the polo. I found this but I think it is for the golf...

VW OEM MK5 / MK6 seat drawer kits

PS. Forgive me if this has been discussed before. I tried doing a forum search but could only find reference to Tig and Golf.

Different seats, different draws. Yes, it's possible but you need them out of a Polo GTI.

With just over 600 in the country, not many. I have only seen one wreck go through the auctions.

These are the parts that you need:

            6Q08825999B9: Frame
            6R0882601C82V: Drawer
            6Q0881203: Glide Piece, S
            N90918701: Socket HD Bolt

I investigated doing it, the parts totalled about $250 I think; but the labour cost was through the roof. If you go ahead some feedback on how easy the install was would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. The first 100 6R Polo's in the country had these installed as standard, so they willl fit all Polo's not just the GTI's.

Thanks for the information. Did you source the prices from a dealer?

If its only bolts and screws I would be willing to give it a go

You also need an ( for lack of a better term ) airbag signal interrupter thingy for when you disconnect the airbags in the seat because you will need to remove the seat to do it.

You may be able to get away without that.
When I installed the drawers in our Golf, there was enough room to just unbolt the seats and lean them backwards against the rear seat for the installation to be performed (needed to tilt the front seat all the way forward first so it could lean back far enough) without undoing the seat airbag wiring.

FlyTSI, yes the quotes were from the dealership.

I am not one for being the first to try things; but if your happy to give it a go and post the findings I'd be the first to copy.

                    Good luck!

I am still trying to get information regarding your car (Well any one of the first 100); the dealership I have been speaking to haven't been able to assist at all.

If you do let us know, as I too would be interested in retrofitting them. Not that the polo has a lack of cubby holes, but when i installed the BT module, I remember thinking "what a waste of space, surely this blanking plate is here so they can put drawers in the GTI or something"...

not wanting to stray too far from the topic. While talking about OPS, Vag-Navisystems in spain (the BT kit mob) are sending me an OPS kit hat they ASSURE me will be plug and play with some basic VCDS coding. Will wait and see and of course report back with results.
