What asn you tell from a VIN/engine number?

What can anyone tell me about the car in regards to does it have new type piston rings and fixes to all the other 6R polo related issues.

You have new piston rings already.
But you might have problems with oil consumption anyway.

Piston ring issues really seem to be luck of the draw... yes there are plenty of problem cars but there are also plenty of people not on forums enjoying their car with no issues... have fun with it

As for the other issues my only one is oil consumption.... everything else has been fantastic with mine. *touch wood*

We bought ours as a demo with nearly 5,00kms on the clock (ex VW press fleet car) so it had been fairly 'run in'. Done 10,00kms now, no problems with oil consumption at all...touch wood.
