    @117kw peak sounds like a happy dyno tbh, my 1st GTI made 112kw on a tough dyno at HPF fyi as a comparison.
    I will leave it to Guy to comment about why the baselines might be different. It shouldn't be surprising that there would be differences between cars, at baseline, though. As well as differences between dynos.

    Regardless of the baseline, I'm guessing the gains would be pretty accurate. Guy did mention that his (our?) graphs show an average over a few runs, too.

      Getting a good baseline on a stock Polo is difficult, under dyno conditions, the stock intercooler will heatsoak dramatically, even when setting the road speed before a power run.

      ~ 100kw at the front wheels is what you would normally see if you can keep the IAT below 55 degrees, it will drop off every run and you can hit ~ 90 degrees after a few pulls, that brings the front power down around another 25kw (yes, as low as 75 kw when hot). If you can get a good cold run in with IAT's under 30, you can see another 10 - 15kw on top.

      Funnily enough, it is the exact same problem as the Side mount intercoolers have on the old Polo 9N.

      Gav's, part of the effect of capturing 100% of the cold air feed would be the ram effect, its now a pressurised intake as the "escape" path, or "Hot Air" feed is blocked off, forcing the lot into the mouth of the intake.

      Nothing wrong with ITG intakes either, we have sold a heap of them for a different specific application. They make a good unit.

        Guy, sorry if I sounded a bit, well, rude about it, that was not my intention. After you explained the theory of the hot air feed I understand and agree that yes, there is an element of hot air being drawn into the motor at rest, it just reads like the website is saying that the air intake is a hot air fed intake, like an old commodore motor or something, not as in a pre-heater for the intake air when the vehicle is traveling slowly/at rest. I'm not saying or suggesting you alter the copy on the website as that's not my place, it's just a little confusing for those of us who know the vehicle fairly well, for the average punter though it reads as it should IMO.

          Side note, you're selling the VW Motorsport/Racing intakes yeah, being the licensed importer? It is just the ITG intake is it not?

            VWR (Volkswagen Racing or Racing Line) contract ITG to make some intakes to their design & specifications, the Polo version in question is not available to us at this stage.
