Thats interesting because the Xenon polos (like mine) come with a different BCM (Body Control Module). In a normal Polo the headlight switch acts as a normal switch, but in a Xenon Polo the headlight switch is connected to the BCM and then the BCM does the switching (plus the cornering function and washers).

So if it's a straight OEM part, it won't work. If it comes with some wiring adapters, I guess it'll half work?

To give you an idea of what you will be getting, kufatec who manufacture a considerable amount of Vw electronic gear sell the full retrofit kit for 2099 euro plus shipping. One bulb alone at a dealership is $350 and readerr0r is correct, the bcm is completely different. Does it also come with this and the leveler removal? Does it come with both front and rear sensors for the levelers? And to be a nice person to your fellow road users, you need headlight washers not only so your vehicle is legal but if you have dirty xenon headlights you can blind the crap out of other road users. A standard halogen globe operates at around 1500 lumen. A xenon globe is around 3200+ lumen. If you're in Melbourne one night I can show you how other road users will feel, when they regain their eyesight.

I'm against retro fit xenons because I know what they can do to other road users, hence why I forked out the coin.

Thanks gavs thats all good news and I wish I had the option to fork out the extra cash for the Xenons but I bought second hand so I had no choice.

From what this guy is telling me he said the auto leveling system was optional at 450 Euros. He mentioned it comes complete with globes, headlights, adapter and cables
he sent me this as well

That is a direct knock-off of the kufatec setup.

Better check if they are for LHD or RHD, too, since it isn't mentioned on their site.

I know the OEM Xenons can switch between LHD and RHD at will, they use the leveling motors for it

I think you can get these but that's another 450 Euros

The guy only accepts Western Union and Bank Transfers... I'm not to happy about that!

                    Have a look here:

KUFATEC GmbH & Co. KG - aLWR Komplettset VW Polo 6R 37920

Notice anything familiar in the images? I'd say thid guy has either done a dodgy and "permanently borrowed" them and is selling them or they are a dodgy copy.

that is for the light retro fit kit from kufatec. To be legal, you will also somehow need to get the full complement of headlight washer parts including:
                    Second washer bottle motor
                    (Suspected) Larger washer bottle
                    washer bottle hoses
                    washer units x2
                    colourcoding of washer unit heads
BCM update (when the headlights are on, when you pull the stalk to wash the windscreen the first time then every 5th time after that with the lights on will wash the headlights) plus coding.

If you really, REALLY want the look of the xenons, then you could buy the kit and install halogen globes and i know you bought second hand, but realistically, it's not worth the effort to install the OEM xenons, spend the coin elsewhere like on a turbo-back exhaust or even a tune.

I would totally do without the washer, that's the biggest turn off and a daily wipe and clean each time I get home would serve the same purpose as using the washer if not better then just spraying little jets of water.

I understand this but in long terms and resell value, getting a tune doesn't always look good. Getting Xenon's will definitely payout (not entirely) more so then any other major engine modification changes. Don't get me wrong I would love to do a tune or at least have the option to switch between maps however Xenons in my eyes does the car more justice long term. Anything above a $1k price tag though is not what I wanna spend...

Might I add I feel aesthetically the car looks better and I kinda feel that I want to do myself justice by doing it... I still feel that buying this car wasn't my happiest choice as I'm still "In Love" with my previous car and only yesterday did I finally get the balls to post on carsales. So I continuously feel like I need to "pretty it up" so when I look at both cars in the morning I'm more happier with the Polo...although most mornings I'm drawn to my Teg!

                      Sad I know...

If it rains a lot where you drive, I'd stick with halogens. The HIDs are cool tho and work better on clear nights.

I know where you're coming from RE looks, but a technically illegal retrofit of the xenon lights would probably do worse regarding resale than a reputable tune. Would you have gone for a polo GTI with factory fitted xenons an a Viezu/apr/DNA/GIAC tune in it or a big stock GTI without the xenons, if they were the same price (disregarding that the tunes are generally better for the car than the factory program)?

I get what your saying and either way the position I'm in I am not going to fork out all this money to get it installed. A tune is probably a much better way to spend my money. I just really wish there was an easier way but frankly it all comes down to money. If this was all cheap and easy I would probably opt for it. Maybe just wait and see...

I hear so many different stories about tuning and that so many companies can do it but how do I know which one is right and which one isn't way to expensive, some guy quoted me $1100.

Anywho this for another thread so wont start about tunes here!
