  • Polo Auto Lock feature?

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if any of you experts know whether the Polo has an auto lock feature when turning the car off?

I parked my car today, was in a hurry and i think i just left without locking it. Dead locked the steering but that's about it lol..

Anyone know if it has a timer that it locks after being off for a certain amount of time?

    Thanks in advance,

    Del.

Never heard of this feature... I only know that my Polo will lock itself after you have unlocked it and never opened the car.... i think...

I have that feature as well.

I don't believe they auto lock if you just get out and close the door though.

The only auto-lock feature the Polo has (and it needs to be programmed by dealer or someone with the right equipment/software), is an auto-lock when you reach 20km/h.

There's no auto-unlock when you turn off the car (some safety reason).

And yes, there's also the auto-lock when you unlock, but don't open the doors.

Great, thanks for the replies! Got my dad to drive over and make sure it was locked haha.

          Thanks for clarifying!

            Re Auto ‘UNLOCK' feature.
Already had ‘auto LOCK' programmed in at dealership before picking up the Polo but didn't like the lack of auto unlock on all doors.
Been at VW service dept today to see if this could be programmed in as I have this setting on the Golf (optional via MFD in these)

Rapt to report this can be done and now is, so all doors, hatch, fuel lid unlock once ignition is turned off and a door is opened from the inside.....much better

This can be done in VCDS too, if it floats anyone's boat

I really hate the lack of VW dealers in Canberra. Or was this a recent change in policy?

Pretty straight forward request for any dealership to do surely?
All I was told is they won't know till they get VAGCOM hooked up to enable them to see what module was used during production. Only took them 15 mins

I asked for the same setup in my Golf. They told me that the auto-unlock was no longer available because the deemed it unsafe. I guess I'll try again next time.

Yes. I offered a friend a lift home and unlocked the car so she could get in while I went to find the pay station to pay for my parking. When I got back to the car, I asked her why she hadn't got in the car. She said that she was admiring the outside of my car and it had locked by itself so she couldn't get in.
