2011 TSI, Does the turbo come on in first gear?

Hi all,

Picked up my 2011 TSI yesterday, and im sure this is a stupid question, but does the turbo come on in first year? It seems like that when i take off in first there is no turbo 'assistance' but as soon as i change to second you can feel it 'coming on song'... Just a query if thats normal or i am just imagining it?

You wont notice it much in first gear, as there isn't much load on the engine.

You have reduced boost in 1st to preserve the drivetrain. The early models Skoda Yeti don't have it though but VAG introduced it shortly after that.
