Rims and tires for sale. Only $800!!!

hi guys, so ive just purchased a new set of rims for my polo and im looking to get rid of the old ones. they are the 15" standard rims that come on the 1.2 tsi. comes with tires that have only done 10000 kms, still plenty of tred. unfortunately on of the wheels has some gutter rash but nothing some putty and a spray can cant fix. be aware that ive changed the price down to 500

I don't want to burst your bubble but your asking price is a little high. Numerous people on the forums have sold their 17inch GTI Denver wheels and tyres, including myself – which were mint condition and 1000km old – for around $800-$900.

See how you go though.

I too agree these is a high price you are asking, when considering there is noticeable damage, max I would be asking is 500-600 that's MAX!

Maybe consider selling tyres separately too

I would imagine you would get more if you sold the rims and tyres separately, and if someone wanted both then you could do a deal at $500 or something like that. When I was selling my old video cards from my PC about a year ago, I originally had the price I think at $300 for both. Didn't get any interest, so I split them and went $170 for both. Got lots of interest and someone wanted both (and he wanted a small discount) so I sold it on the spot for $320. So in the end I got more haha.

Probably a good idea to list these in the for sale section of the forum because the wheels will fit both the 9n polo and mk4 golf.

You'd probably do better if you presented them better - you know, gave them a wash.

Also told people the width & ET of the rims (it's all cast into the back of the spokes), PCD & # of holes, tyre size, brand & model & depth of tread left.

The gutter scraped rims aren't worth a cent because they are ~$100 each to get professionally refurbished & if it was easy you'd fix them before sale.

As a price indicator, I recently sold some unmarked 16x6.5 with barely legal (5000km remaining) tyres for $250 & that took months.

The replacement I fitted were almost new 16x7.5 with 8.5mm depth (almost new) 225/55x16 Michelins & I paid $400 as the only bid on ebay. The tyres alone sell for ~$300 each.

GL with the sale but I think you'll be doing well to get $400

Have you considered selling them individually. There may be lots of 6R polo owners like myself who are looking for one rim to match the four on the car so that we can get rid of the standard steel spare which is speed limitted.

Indeed.. Im in Melbourne, would be interested in a single for that very reason, always prefer a proper wheel to match the other 4...
