Anyone got a Sway-Bar installed? Care to voice opinions???

Yep, of course it does as you are increasing the roll stiffness at the front again so if you have a rear bar, then by upgrading your front bar, you will bring the handling closer back to original, which is under steer biased.

If you used the rear sway as well as a upgrade front sway the understeer would be less than stock, but you would have greater response and less twitchy response under heavy turns, no?

I'm probs wrong but I thought the response would be increased with a full upgraded sway package and reduce the chance of unpredictable oversteer with just the rear sway installed.

It depends on the rear sway bar. If it has an increase over the rate of the upgraded front (I.e on full stiff on an adjustable bar) then yes but if the increase in rate is lower or equal to the increase of the front rate then no.

So having said all this understeer/oversteer talk would it in anyway help by getting a front sway bar to stabilise the car in heavy or sharp cornering/turning?

It's like the number one thing I wish to get from this car without over jeopardising the ride comfort. I have to say the rear sway bar did wonders but now having driven it for so long I can still feel the body roll and more so with my driving, passengers are forever telling me to drive take it easy...lol

Adding a heavier front anti-roll bar will have less impact on ride comfort than anything else you can do to reduce the body roll.

The front anti-roll bar will improve transient response so the car will respond to steering inputs more quickly but you will lose a bit of front grip so the car will have a greater tendency to understeer - this will make the car more stable.
If you mean, "will it make the car roll less in heavy or sharp cornering/turning", then yes - that is why they are properly called anti-roll bars as the car rolls from the moment generated by centripetal force acting through the center of gravity vs the tyres' grip position.

It doesn't sway unless your dampers (not shock absorbers) are totally stuffed.

What level do you have the rear anti-roll bar set to? With the heavier front, you could increase the rear bar's setting (unless it is already maxxed out) to maintain the current balance of your car rather than increasing its tendency to understeer.

Yeah between you and gavs you tend to spit out the same advice and it's greatly appreciated. I'm new to the whole modding my car experience as I've mentioned before my last car was built stock to handle hard cornering and what not. I've always been a lover of handling over power, this car is definitely a little beast and I LOVE IT however the handling is a little on the meh side.

At the moment my rear sway bar is on the hardest setting (props to gavs) and as I didn't notice a massive difference between medium and hard I did however notice the difference overall. So should I leave it on this setting if I get a front bar, and does the front have adjustable settings too?

After you saying all this I think my next upgrade will be a front sway bar, as I really want to get rid of that body roll when cornering and if you say it definitely will I'm willing to take you advice, I assume it wont be as magically as the rear but someone on here did say they should come and be installed as a package. I was a tad reluctant when I rang Whiteline and asked if they were selling a front bar as they said it wasn't worth it and made the car feel like it was when it was stock (without any ARB) Any recommendation for other brands then?

What are you hoping to achieve?
On front wheel drive cars it generally makes more sense putting a stiffer sway bar at the rear, but it all depends what you are trying to achieve

Trying to eliminate the body roll on cornering. I tend to take corners harder then usual and when I do I feel like I'm on a boat.

BTW I have a rear sway bar and that helps but I'm used to it now so it feels like its stock again!

Just be aware that the car will tend to understeer more which will reduce your cornering speed.
It's all a balancing game.
If the car does not understeer at all, then it won't hurt putting on a bigger front sway bar, but you don't want to over do it.

EDIT: APR Tuning seem to have done quite a bit of work in this area. Have a look at what they recommend

Yeah the down fall is that I have a Whiteline rear sway bar already. How can this compare to APR?
