Can you mod Polo glasses console to Golfs?

Just today i randomly took off (easily) the empty bracket in which the Golf holds your sunglasses in the center interior light section. Does anyone know if you can simply swap and change with a Golfs part to suit the Polo?

I would think it should fit as it looked like there was plenty of room, I guess the dimensions would have to be identical.

I swear if it's just a simple switch and place mod I would totally agree and think someone was on drugs when they designed it. Why have a voided area perfect for what all other VW cars use productively..

Mine has thus as well but much prefer it to be up high in the center roof console. It's more accessible there.

I've taken out the BT Touchscreen that comes with the MY12.5 Polos. If you dont do a trick in VCDS, it'll freak out if you take it out.

Ahhh I get it your referring to those horrible bluetooth kits that VW install next to the glovebox? I thought you removed the media unit, therefore selling it...lol

I'll inspect my parents' Golf when I get back from Melbourne in a couple of days. From memory, the Golf's looked a little bigger than the polo.
Bassik, if it's possible, could you please do a little write up of how to take off that bit for holder. Haven't tried pull anything apart from either car yet haha cheers.

Hey Dan,

Yeah no worries, from memory it was the easiest mod yet if it works. I simply took it off at a set of lights (with me nails) top part firest then just it popped out. Here's a pic of what it looks like. This is the Golfs one but they look identical. I can take more pics of mine when I get home this arvo. Would your parents Golf be a Mk6 or Mk5?

Thanks for that. They've got a MK6 118TSI. It'd be great if it was indeed just pop and switch.
