  • Custom exhaust, advice seeked

Hey guys, so I've been reading a lot of the threads here seeking advice but im still unsure. So I thought I might as well start my own. Ive dicided that I'm going to get a custom exhaust done by ultimate performance exhausts in brendale and that my budget is around 1000, I'm willing to go allitle over if nessisary. Thats all I'm certain of, looking for advice on what sort of system I should or can get with that money. Also has anyone used this shop before, if so, was your experience good?

    Thanks guys

For that kind of coin, I'd be buying a bastuck, abt, freidrich Motorsport etc system, all of them do systems for the 1.2 tsi.

If your set on a custom setup, stick to max 2.5" I.D with a custom dump pipe to bet the turbo flowing better and add an extra $500 to your budget.

i had a looked at the above companies last night. i sent emails to 2 of them, but seems to me from thier websites, that they currently only make for polos up to 2009. does anyone know of a company that makes a full stainless steel exhaust for the 2011 model which is reasonably priced?

        Hit up Bayside Performance Services.
They do a great job and fabricated my muffler delete pipe.

Has anyone got a system with a high flow cat? Any warning light issues?

I used Brisbane Exhaust Centre near the Gabba to get my resonater delete pipe fabricated on my Citroen DS3. Very nice service, reasonably cheap and FAST! The person I dealt with did everything, the actual sale, advice and the fabrication/installation. No damage to my vehicle. He took out the resonator and installed the pipe in approx. 30min.

They do custom exhausts there as well. I was going to get a custom exhaust, but the bigger expense didn't warrant the benefits. See if you can speak to Nathan (at least I think it was Nathan haha - if you go there he is the bigger guy who always wears a beanie).

I had a CEL come up a few days after the installation of my APR downpipe (w/ highflow cat).

It was easy to remove with an 42DD o2 spacer from Greg at Carformance.

Good price and cheap shipping, coupled with a relatively easy item to install and I've never had another CEL surface

Thanks is it should I install one myself or can I get the exhaust garage to do it?

Easy enough to install but Greg can't get them for love nor money. They are always on backorder, all the ones he gets in are pre-sold. So get one ordered today!

I'd get it fitted at the shop, only take them 30 seconds when they re-fit the lambda probe.

Go either full cutom, of just go for a rear muffler is my advice. I already have the ABT kit but that's 50mm pipe. So now I cant get a full 2,5" exhaust with downpipe or I'll either lose the ABT kit of have it completely remade in 55mm..

I made sure to research before getting the ABT, I think we can agree dave...its bang for buck considering the "blurt-o-tron" effect and "R" look/style
