I'm surprised actually, I thought VWA did this on purpose to make the Polo GTI less appealing than the Golf GTI. At least it means we can easily get Detroit's for our cars, bet some Mk4/Bora/5x100 people will be happy too.

Bastards, my production week was apparently last week (unless it got delayed). Naturally, I tried getting Detroits with my order to no avail. Thanks VW!

Suppose I'll have to import them using the money I get refunded on the now-standard audio/comfort packs which I paid for. I do get those refunded, right?

Is this actually confirmed yet? Because there was supposedly a mass of changes in the MY11.5 update and only one eventuated, the new gear selector for the dsg.

... there was a change in gear selector? The selector on my MY12 GTI is the same as the one on the dealer's demo my10 or whichever MY the first gen was...

No it's not, the very first gear selectors were the old, square-type selector.



the dealer demo would be a later model, there is no way they would still have a MY10 GTI there, it would be MY11.5 at the earliest. Did it have climatronic? WHat colour was the display if it did?

If it was MY10, it would have also had the 12v power socket in the boot.

Thinking about it, isnt this MY13 timeframe around the same time when the change to the new engine code was due to come through as well? I believe that change of code denotes the different pistons/rings as its major change?

From May 2012 any car ordered will have the "CTHE" engine code.

This is to try and get rid of the following issues with the cars.....

The ecu upgrades
fuel pump issues
piston rings
spark plugs etc

Well I didn't, the reason given was because I already got a good discount plus my order ended up being transferred to another dealership,
(don't ask, long story) but this made renegotiating the refund being off the table....at least the Bluetooth was free and the hole in the dash is such an unwanted tacky bonus!
You may fare better, have you actually asked your salesperson?
