I'm seeking recomendations for good service in SEQueensland, new Polo GTI (4800 k) have done Oil change at 4000 and intend to do another at about 9000, ( yeah no its a bit excessive.. but ) will settle down to 7500 interval after 1st service (15000). current mechanic-sorry technician for past 5 years says can do it all, but must be scrupulous. another recomend is, mid service oil change with existing tech, full service with dealer. previous dealings with "local" dealer not good, prepared to travel for good service. recomendations or suggestions... have read good things about a gold coast euro service.
    thankyou Polly

JMac (Alba European) or Mike Webber (Prestige and Performance) would be my choice around Brissie.

Have heard good things about VAGarage at the Gold Coast too.

        thank you for replies,
VAGarage Gold coast do get good recomend,we are on sunshine coast, will happily travel for quality service. any thoughts on dealer or non dealer service?
would it simplify any warranty matters with a dealer relationship? sunshinecoast dealer not highly recomended, or good reputation for work, thinking to buy xtended warranty too,
very happy with car, planning to service fastidiously!
        thankyou Polly

I don't suppose by any chance your local dealer was Austral VW? Don't get me started on raging about them From what I've seen Highway VW is good if you are after a dealer.

As he is located on the Sunshine Coast i would guess his local dealer was Garry Crick VW.
Unfortunately i can't seem to find any local indepenedent up that way, so the closest thing would be the dealership at redcliffe.

I've recently discovered an independant VW repairman here on the Sunshine Coast... North Volks in Warana. I would love to give the dealer some competition... but has anyone heard of them? Are they any good?

                  Cheers!

I had Jmac do my Polo for half the dealer price and he came to my place to do it.
He comes to the Sunshine Coast to service some Golfs for a business at Kawana so give him a ring Even with his callout charge he is heaps cheaper than any dealer and is an expert on VW's
He will be getting my Passat to do next month as well

Do you remember how much he charged you for the polo's service? After 2 services I definitely don't want to bring it back to Austral... unless for a warranty claim.

Thanks, even with the terrible experience with my VW i used to have and Austral, I will consider another VW when the time comes to buy another car. I will no doubt go to GC mostly because of the great user reviews i've seen from you guys.

Another person raging about Austral haha, join the club. Still wondering why Austral LR are so good but Austral VW are so crap.
