I'm wondering if there is a direct correlation between the tears of Australian VW Polo GTI customers (both recipients and those still waiting) and the grin on Martin Winterkorn's face....

Did it have all the Comfort pack bits and the RCD510/MDI/Bluetooth as standard, as per MY12 changes?

$1250 according to apr's site. but im sure i'll get slugged an 'installation fee'

just spoke to brian - $1250 for the tune + $95 as the ecu needs to be removed from the car...

thinking it might be better/cheaper to remove the ecu and send it to John from DNA for programming

APR Stage1 takes you from 132 to 149Kw and 250Nm to 302Nm of Torque.

Its a decent upgrade for an ECU tune - without modifying your engine or cooling at all.

The only advice I have based on what i've read on this forum is - dont thrash your Stage 1 upgraded 6R GTI in hot weather

                    Does it void warranty?

yeah, i learn't that lesson with my tuned 77TSI... 40 degree day + thrashed car = CEL + limp mode

no it won't void the warranty, the standard intercooler is a big restriction so it's circulating hot air which results in significant performance drop. And limp mode apparently.

thinking i might go for the HP intercooler and CAI before i tune it

I don't recommend doing a tune on a GTI. There is a big reason why Volkswagen didn't give it them extra HP and thats cos the more you stress the engine the less life its got. You are better off leaving her as standard.......

Plus these cars aren't designed for Perths 40 + degree days for weeks on end.....The engine will hate life.

Are you sure about this? I've been told the APR tune does void the Manufacturer's warranty.

Of course it will void it....you are changing the fundamental performance of the engine....the idea of those chips though is that if you don't tell them they won't know about it.
