Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

After driving a Polo in Germany i didn't really see much difference in the build quality. What i did see is that they have different options. The car i had didn't have auto windscreen wipers, cruise control or steering wheel controls. But it did have heated seats, climate control and had side trims on all the doors etc......and to be honest...much nicer standard rims than the ones they give us. They were 16's and i would of preferred them.

In Europe all new cars "should" by law have to have

Climate control, Heated Seats due to the climate and harsh winters they have, that even includes tyres.

          Edit: Northern Europe only.

I never knew that they had to have heated seats by law. Thats pretty cool. I just was in the understanding that they had to put winter tyres on during the winter.

Heated seats compulsory? I find that hard to believe but I'm willing to be proven wrong.

If heated seats are compulsory for Europe shouldnt a beer fridge and cigarette dispenser be compulsory for all Australian cars?

They're all pretty rubbish, but still considerably better than anything out of thailand

                    Not sure about that
Climate control and heated seats are options on Skodas in the UK.
