Just about to take my GTI in for it's first service. On the highway, I've managed as low as 5.3 and about 5.6 or so seems the norm. Around town it's obviously a lot more variable, but my average when filling the tank (35-40L used) is approx 7.5-7.8. I only use BP Ultimate, if that helps.

prcurrie, I average around town BELLOW the claimed urban figure, I get 7.1l/100kms.
On a trip up to yarrawonga, I averaged 5.6l/100kms untill I hit Winton raceway area, that when I opened up the taps a few times. Even then, 6.0L/100kms for the whole trip.
Coming home was slightly better, more downhill.sigpic

Road Trip lite shows my average over 10.5k is 7.03L/100km, using BP ultimate.
I tried taking the average consumption of the MFD for a while and noticed consumption went up...probably also the fun factor...(-;

Well I trundle up and down the Ring Rd for about 35kms one way, twice a day.
I fnd the sweet spot for economy is to travel at 90kms/hr. If I get a non stop run to work then I get 5.5-5.9l/100kms.
My total average urban and highway sits on 6.9l.

I've been getting between 7.44 and 7.84. I try to drive as economically as possible, but, geez! It's just too tempting to the open up the throttle!2011 Polo GTI | Black | 5 doors | Comfort pack | Audio pack | 9w7 Bluetooth | Xenons - a Return to VW!
