Yes, I think it would. It would also raise your gearing = slower acceleration.

      Bleeep!

Hopefully the wheel will come in at 18x7.5...hopeful.

Glad he is requesting 3 models to be made for polos...hope the 7.5 is one of them

dont worry, the boavistas (215/40/17) and 225/35/18 are actually very close

the difference in the rolling diameter is ~10mm or 1.8% i.e. negligible, plus there is the benefit of lighter wheels

5x 100 PCD 18x8 +35 Talladega (Black) replicas of course.

Anyone interested (serious buyers) please pm me and i will forward you his ebay account the reason i didn't post it earlier is have been trying since December after i received a full refund when i received replicas from the UK with a crack in the inner wall i wanted to be sure about this Australian Distributor.

          Regards

P.S His courier rates are dirt cheap considering the weight of each wheel

So now tyres...I know the size to get would be 225/35r18?

But now which brand, naturally looking for a good brand...no el cheapos but not ridiculously expensive! lol

Would it put the odo out of whack though? I believe the cops fine you now for 5+ over the limit these days :/

Why get the wrong size when you can get the right size?

Exactly, however there isn't much protection for the rim and it looks tight.

Anyways if the guy comes back saying oh they have decided 18x7.5 that would be logical as he said its up to the manufacturer to decide the size before production (they're working on workshop manuals and modelling) didn't know wheel manufacturers were so concerned about us!

if the rim is 8" wide 225 is the right size

                  any narrower just looks gay

Lol, not a fan of the stretched look then?

I'd prefer the wider rubber for the rim protection factor, so might run with 225 anyway, particularly since you've confirmed that there's no major issues with them.

Yeah when i saw that photo journal that one of the guys posted...the rim is sticking out more than the tread.

Anyways the middle man will let me know end of the week what the factory has decided as (viable for sales and safety) as its all number crunching on their side...funny how they didn't think that 80% of Polo owners would prefer OEM wheels over shiny chrome braaaazzz! lol
