Getting close!

My candy white Polo GTI is slated for delivery on Friday the 3rd of Feb... Not too bad considering my order went through on the 26th of May 2011, and I know people on these forums who've ordered before me and still don't have a build date..

My order was 3 door GTI with RCD510 and Xenon headlights... and thats it. I'm really not too sure about all the talk/info about wether my GTI will receive the fabled MY12 upgrades such as climate control included and bluetooth as standard - so I ended up ordering the 9w7 kit from the Ebay seller in Poland.

I assume that if I give this kit to my Dealer they can install it for me, or will I have to get someone else to install it? I'm not too confident about removing dash panels and trim myself, so i'd rather get it professionally done.

Looked at the APR stage1 kit too... but still really not sure on the warranty aspects of it - and from reading the forums i've seen some people who have had their engines go into limp mode because of overheating? Too confused with the tuning

Find a local installer and pay them??

Awesome iigx. I think my car might have been in the same shipment as yours. My order was the same as yours but in black. How did you get an ETA on your car. I have been called VW John Hughes over and over again and I'm still getting nothing. All they can tell me is that its stuck in customs and that my car will be ready to be picked up mid Feb at the latest?

I got the VIN number from the dealer, and then basically started the process of yelling at people all the way to the top.

My ship arrives in Fremantle on the 30th and i've been promised by VWA that the customs, delivery and everything else has been pre-booked and sorted to clear through in under a week

I have a friend who installed the touch screen radio for my car and he could do your 9w7 as I need one put in mine too!

I have a silver 5door...

Don't bother asking the dealer to install, they will charge you regardless!!

Lucky you! Several phone calls and emails have achieved nothing for me. Went in to see the dealer in person and he just brushed me off. The usual, it's coming asap (three months late)

Sigh.... I'll just keep dreaming of my car

So as it turns out even though my car has been sitting at the docks for 9 days its still another 2-3 weeks before it will reach the dealership.

How did you find out it would be another 2-3 weeks? I thought the standard for the supposedly 'fast-tracked' Polo's was about 2 weeks from the boat arriving?

when you have waited more than 21 days, then come back and complain, see if you can beat my record

I phoned up Sam, the Sales Manager at Osborne Park VW. He advised that on the Patricks tracking (or VW tracking) it still said it would be 2-3 weeks before it hit the dealership.

I dont even.

How can it take a car 3-4 weeks to travel a whole 15km?

I told the Dealer that I have a friend who works for Heliwest. If the cars not here by the 3rd week of Feb i'm going to airlift it to my house. I'm off to America for 6 weeks at the beginning of March.... would like to have a play before I go!!

Sorry dude but the dealership is telling you porkies me thinks. Compliance takes less than a day, coming from an ex-Patrick's pre-delivery mechanic. As soon as it gets off the ship, the vin gets flagged at VGA, they then alert the dealership (generally the stock controller) who then requests the car to be complianced and trucked to them.

Oh, as a side note, Patrick's tracking as a bit of a myth and realistically, only Patricks logistics staff have access to it, the only way that ( unless it's changed in 6 months) dealership staff can access it, is if they ring and speak to logistics...

They did exactly the same for me....i got my polo from off a ship..I ended up waiting 3 weeks because it was in some VW WA holding yard and apparently it was in the wrong part of the holding yard....OH and check your rims really closely!...i have just found that my front left and right alloy wheels had damage and that they painted over it.
